BACKGROUND

Brad began his martial arts training at 6 years old. He studied Karate on and off for 10 years. In high school, he wrestled for 2 years. Brad started training Jiu-Jitsu in 1993 at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Torrance, CA under Rorion Gracie, Royce Gracie and Fabio Santos. He later had the privilege learning Jiu-Jitsu from Rickson Gracie, Mauricio Costa, Rodrigo Gracie, Roger Machado and Ralph Gracie. In 2000, Brad was awarded his black belt by Ralph Gracie. Brad competed in the 2001 Pan American Championships in Florida and won his division.

In January of 2001, Brad opened the Ralph Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Placentia, CA. After a great deal of hard work, the academy has continually grown and now boasts a large student base with 2 full time black belt instructors dedicated to the improvement of their students. The academy provides a friendly learning environment where all are welcome to pursue their goals whether they be recreational, self defense or competition oriented. Brad's passion for Jiu-Jitsu centers around his love for teaching students.
